A tattoo is a permanent mark made by inserting ink into the skin to change the pigment for decorative reasons just like branding in animals. Tattoos on people are a type of decorative body modification. Tattoos have served as marks of status and rank, symbols of religious and spiritual devotion, decorations for bravery, sexual lures and marks of fertility and pledges of love. And because tattooing involves breaking the skin barrier, it may carry with it health risks, including infection and allergic reactions.Tattoos on feet can be pretty painful, due to the large amount of nerves, tendons, bones, and low percentage of body fat and muscle. Swelling is something that tends to vary from person to person, so it's too hard to predict. Putting ice on a swollen tattoo can help, but remember not to get the actual tattoo wet. The problems with feet and infection comes most often from friction and having shoes rub the fresh healing tattoos. If you can not wear very open shoes, or go barefoot until the scab comes off, try and wear shoes that don not rub the healing area too tightly...
